For more than 40 years, Urban Pathways’ mission has been to engage New York City’s most vulnerable residents – people living on the streets, in subways, or in public areas unfit for human habitation and provide them with “a way home”.

Urban Pathways’ success relies on a team of dedicated professional employees, as well as the support of passionate volunteers who contribute in a myriad of ways.

One of our many volunteer opportunities is Career Day with Program Participants

For our most recent Career Day, Urban Pathways welcomed volunteers from Goldman Sachs Community Team Works program. Volunteers had the opportunity to tour our Clinton Avenue residence, meet our CEO Fred Shack and work one-on-one with Urban Pathways program participants who are completing occupational coursework and preparing for job readiness.

Volunteers took part in round-robin sessions; working with clients on resume building, mock interviews, how to dress for success, and interpersonal communications.

Program participants were very thankful to have had the opportunity to speak to Goldman Sachs volunteers. They learned the skills necessary to enter the job market with confidence, as well as furthering their independence, stability, and wellness as fully integrated members of the community.

We thank Goldman Sachs for their participation in this noble cause. For more information on Urban Pathways Career Day and other organizational volunteer events please email development@urbanpathways.org.
