We’re thrilled to welcome Robert Robinson to the Urban Pathways Board of Directors! Rob has turned his experiences with homelessness into advocacy, becoming a passionate voice for housing justice internationally.

Rob brings decades of advocacy, leadership, and lived experience to our organization. After experiencing homelessness firsthand in Miami and New York City, Rob has transformed his personal journey into tireless advocacy for housing justice and human rights. He has been deeply involved in the housing movement since 2007 and joined Urban Pathways as an active and vocal member of our Advocacy Group, where he quickly emerged as a powerful force for equity, dignity, and systemic change.

His impact reaches beyond New York City. Rob was a co-founder of the Take Back the Land Movement and currently serves as a Senior Advisor at Partners for Dignity and Rights. He has worked with housing and land justice movements in Hungary, Germany, Brazil, South Africa, and Spain. His international work includes partnerships with groups like the International Alliance of Inhabitants, the Landless Workers Movement (MST) in Brazil, and the Platform of People Affected by Mortgages (PAH) in Spain.

In addition to his advocacy work, Rob contributes to academic spaces as a guest lecturer at the CUNY Graduate Center and various law schools across the U.S. and Canada. In 2021, he was appointed an adjunct professor of Urbanism at The New School.

We are honored to welcome Rob to our Board of Directors. His lived experience, global perspective, and deep commitment to justice will be invaluable as we continue to advance our mission of supporting and empowering New Yorkers experiencing homelessness.

Welcome, Rob!
