Last week Urban Pathways visited the second graders at Trevor Day School in New York City and we had an excellent time!
The children are currently learning about survival, the differences between “wants” and “needs” and the importance of shelter: security, safety, privacy, and care. The Urban Pathways development team discussed the great work the organization does to ensure that those less fortunate have the tools they “need” to survive. The lesson was capped off with the children breaking off into groups and creating “Welcome Home” signs for Urban Pathways new clients as they enter our residences.
“It was great to see how knowledgeable and aware the children are of the importance of shelter at such a young age.” said Nancy Olecki Director of Development for Urban Pathways.
