Yesterday, our residences in the Bronx had a Veterans Appreciation Barbeque in Crotona Park. This pre-Labor Day Celebration honored our program participants who have proudly served in our country’s armed forces. Residents from The Clinton Avenue- Boston Road Apartments and Crotona Community Residence came out to join in the celebration.
Along with the staff and residents, community providers like Metro-Plus, Metro –Urgi Care, among others joined the festivities as they networked and learned more about Urban Pathways, our clients, residents, programs and services.
The Parks Department was also in attendance as workers from Crotona Park led clients in exercises and spoke to them about how to remain active and healthy. Staff also led residents in games that helped them get to know residents in their sites and in their community.
Program participants were very happy with the event, they enjoyed the food, music and getting to meet other residents as well as learning healthy tips and tricks that help them reintegrate back into the community.
